Riot Games just dropped a massive announcement at EVO 2026: Lux and Samira are officially coming to 2XKO. Season 1’s roster is now complete, and the future of the game looks bright.
The Big Reveal at EVO 2026
Right after Grand Finals wrapped up in Las Vegas, Riot dropped the announcement everyone had been waiting for. Lux, the Lady of Luminosity, and Samira, the Desert Rose, were confirmed as the final two champions completing 2XKO’s Season 1 pass. The crowd was already at peak hype after a full weekend of intense competition – the reveal landed at the perfect moment.
Lux’s Kit: A Zone-Control Monster in the Making
From the gameplay glimpse in the reveal, Lux looks like a zoning and setup powerhouse built around her signature light magic. Here’s what was shown:
- Her iconic laser beam fires multiple times in succession
- Her League snare became a light pillar portal – takes a second to activate, then fires a column of light downward
- A slow-moving fireball for neutral control and space management
- A DP anti-air for reversal options
- A diagonal dive kick to close distance from the air
As EventHubs noted, “she seems quite faithful to her old self” – great news for Lux mains transitioning from League. Her brand-new Demacia stage also features Galio looming in the background with a statue of Kayle beneath him.
Samira: The Desert Rose Is Still a Mystery
Samira’s reveal was more tease than trailer. Her character model was shown – dangerous and stylish, exactly what you’d expect from the Desert Rose – but no gameplay footage was shared. She’s confirmed to follow Lux in the season pass and will be the final champion of Season 1.
Her League kit hints at something explosive: rapid sword-and-gun combos, a spinning style meter, and a screen-clearing ultimate. In 2XKO’s 2v2 format, her potential for devastating tag combos could make her one of the most exciting characters the game has seen. Full details come when her trailer drops.
Season 1 Roster: Where Things Stand
With Lux and Samira confirmed, 2XKO’s Season 1 character pass is now fully locked in:
- Senna – Released June 9, 2026
- Thresh – Released June 9, 2026
- Lux – Coming Fall 2026
- Samira – Arriving after Lux, closing out Season 1
Lux’s full gameplay trailer is expected in Fall 2026 – EVO France (October 9-11) is the most likely reveal window. Samira’s release will follow after that. Riot announcing both at EVO’s biggest stage sends a clear signal: Season 1 is being delivered as promised, and this game keeps growing.
