OVERVIEW
Thresh is the newest jailer in 2XKO — a Grappler-Support hybrid whose hooks drag opponents out of position and whose lantern rewrites how Tag mechanics work.
He’s the most setup-rich character Riot has shipped: every knockdown becomes an architecture project.
TJ’s Tip
Lantern isn’t just for your partner — throwing it behind an opponent threatens a pull-through crossup they have to respect forever.
HOOKS & LANTERN
Death Sentence (236S1) is a ranged hook that drags victims to Thresh — or Thresh to them with the follow-up, your choice mid-move.
Dark Passage (S2) throws his lantern anywhere on screen; his partner can Tag in AT the lantern instead of standard entry — breaking every Tag-punish habit opponents have.
NEUTRAL GAME
Thresh controls diagonal space like nobody else: hooks cover ground approach, Flay (214S1) yanks jumpers out of the air.
- Hook whiff recovery is real — throw it behind cover or not at all
- Flay reverses opponent momentum: their dash-in becomes your combo
- Box (236S2) walls cut the stage in half for your zoner partner

Note
Notation is preliminary — routes are being verified against the current patch and will be updated with optimized versions.
ADVANCED TECH
Thresh mastery is lantern geometry — placements that simultaneously threaten partner entry, escape routes, and crossup pulls.
- Lantern Tag entry dodges anti-Tag supers completely
- Hook > choice of pull creates two different punish states
- The Box on opponent wake-up forces walls on both sides
TEAM COMPOSITION
Thresh elevates everyone, but the dream pairings: Senna (the canon lockdown duo), Akali (lantern delivers her point-blank), and Illaoi (double setup hell).
