OVERVIEW
Jinx is 2XKO’s premier zoner — a high-energy, high-damage character who controls space with explosive projectiles, land mines, and a rocket that can end rounds from nearly full screen. She’s beginner-accessible but has elite-level depth through her Pow-Pow vs. Fishbones weapon swap system.
If you want to control the pace of every match, punish reckless approaches, and deal massive damage from a distance, Jinx is your character.
💡 Why Jinx rewards patient players
Jinx doesn’t need to rush. Her gameplan is to set traps, control space, and let her opponent walk into damage. The calmer you play, the deadlier she gets.
WEAPON SWAP SYSTEM
Jinx’s defining mechanic is her weapon swap between Pow-Pow (minigun) and Fishbones (rocket launcher). Each weapon changes her normals and opens different game plans.
- Pow-Pow mode: Faster attacks, better up-close pressure, and rapid-fire for mix-up sequences. Use this when the opponent is in your face.
- Fishbones mode: Slower but longer range. Rockets arc and can hit behind projectile cover. Use this to control space and set up traps from mid-range.
- Swapping is free and fast — mix both weapons every round to keep opponents guessing.
NEUTRAL & ZONING
Jinx’s neutral goal is simple: don’t let the opponent get in for free. Her main tools:
Key Zoning Tools
- 236L/M (Zap traps): Lay a mine on the ground. It detonates on contact or after a timer. Cover your approaches with these.
- j.H (Fishbones aerial rocket): Covers a huge area diagonally. Use it to catch jump-ins and punish overly aggressive dashes.
- 5H (standing heavy): Her best mid-range poke. Slow startup but massive range — use it to catch people trying to walk in.
“The best Jinx players aren’t playing reactively — they’re setting up the board three steps ahead.” — TJPuma
CORE COMBOS
Jinx’s combo routes differ by weapon. Learn both starters before mixing them:

Anti-Air Routes
Jinx’s 2H anti-air is slower than most — use it early. On hit, connect j.M immediately for a full aerial combo that ends in a ground bounce for big damage.
ADVANCED TECH
Mastering these techniques separates good Jinx players from great ones:
- Mine Layering: You can have multiple mines active at once. Layer them at different distances to create a trap field your opponent can’t easily avoid.
- Weapon swap cancel: Certain normals can be cancelled into a weapon swap, effectively giving you extended blockstrings with different angles of attack.
- Tag mine setups: Call your tag partner while a mine is active. The mine covers your partner’s assist animation, making it nearly safe on block.
TEAM COMPOSITION
Jinx works best as a second character — let your partner fight, then Jinx comes in to clean up or extend damage with her superior range. Best partners:
- Vi — Vi forces the opponent into the corner while Jinx punishes from range. Their assists cover each other’s weaknesses perfectly.
- Ekko — Ekko’s rewind mechanic combined with Jinx’s mines creates confusing mix-up sequences that are extremely hard to escape.
- Braum — Braum’s shield provides Jinx cover when she needs to approach, and his assist extends Jinx’s combo routes significantly.
