HOW DO FUSES WORK?

Fuse SystemAll 5 FusesTeam IdentityWhich To Pick

OVERVIEW

Fuses are 2XKO’s team-identity system: after locking your duo, you pick a Fuse that changes how your two champions work together. Same duo, different Fuse = completely different team.

Your Fuse choice matters as much as your character choices — it decides your combo structure, your defense options, and your win condition.

TJ’s Tip

New players: start on Sidekick. It simplifies the tag system while you learn your point character, and you can graduate to Freestyle later without relearning your champion.

EVERY FUSE EXPLAINED

The five Fuses, and who they’re for:

  • Sidekick — your assist can’t be KO’d or tagged in; you pilot one champion with support tools. Best for: beginners.
  • 2X Assist — multiple assist actions per sequence; your partner is constantly on screen helping. Best for: pressure-heavy duos.
  • Freestyle — Handshake Tag twice in one sequence for extended team combos. Best for: combo creativity, high APM.
  • Double Down — combine your Super with your assist’s for massive cash-out damage. Best for: damage maximalists.
  • Juggernaut — fight as ONE empowered champion, no partner. Best for: pure solo fundamentals.

HOW TO PICK YOURS

Match the Fuse to your duo’s game plan, not the other way around:

  • Setup characters (Illaoi, Caitlyn, Teemo) love 2X Assist — more screen coverage
  • Touch-of-death duos (Akali, Yasuo) want Freestyle extensions
  • Grapplers with super-heavy damage cash out with Double Down
  • Learning a new character? Drop to Sidekick for 20 matches
